Ingvild H. Rishøi was born in 1978 and lives in Oslo. Her litterary career began in 2007 and she has written three children's books, three collections of short stories and the novel Brightly Shining.
She has recieved several literary awards, among them the Brage Prize, the Norwegian Critics' Prize for best adult fiction and the Dobloug Prize, awarded by the Swedish Academy. Her books are translated to more than 20 languages.
Rishøi has studied journalism. She has been working in some of Norway's biggest newspapers as well as in kindergardens and as a Christmas tree seller.
